About The Old Hammam & Spa
The Old Hammam & Spa is an established, family-run Turkish and Moroccan Hammam and wellness spa in North London, dedicated to providing authentic treatments and exceptional customer care. We pride ourselves on creating a welcoming and professional environment for both our clients and therapists.
We are seeking experienced, fully qualified Massage Therapists to join our team on a self-employed basis. Applicants must hold recognised professional qualifications and have practical experience in:
- Thai Massage
- Deep Tissue Massage
Accepted Qualifications
We will consider applicants holding one or more of the following (or equivalent recognised qualifications):
- VTCT Level 3 Diploma in Massage Therapy or equivalent
- ITEC Diploma in Holistic Massage or Sports Massage
- CIDESCO qualification
- CIBTAC qualification
- City & Guilds Level 3 Diploma in Beauty Therapy
- Recognised Thai Massage certification (e.g. accredited Thai massage school qualification)
- Other internationally recognised equivalent massage therapy qualifications
Additional qualifications and experience in the following treatments would be highly advantageous:
- Lymphatic Drainage Massage
- Pregnancy Massage
Experience in spa and beauty treatments, including facials, body scrubs, and Hammam treatments, is desirable but not essential.
Essential Requirements
- Recognised qualification as listed above (or equivalent)
- Proven professional experience delivering Thai Massage and Deep Tissue Massage
- Professional indemnity insurance (or ability to obtain prior to starting)
- Client-focused, professional approach
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to communicate effectively in English
- Right to work in the United Kingdom
Contract & Payment
- Six-month service agreement
- Rates from £25 per treatment hour
- Minimum payment guarantee per scheduled shift, subject to service agreement terms
- Payment is based on treatments carried out

Spa Hammam Therapist

The Role
As a Spa Hammam Therapist, you will provide a relaxing and memorable experience for every client while maintaining the highest standards of customer care and hygiene. Your responsibilities will include:
- Delivering traditional Hammam treatments following our training and standards.
- Preparing treatment rooms and ensuring all areas remain clean, organised and welcoming.
- Maintaining excellent hygiene and health & safety standards.
- Welcoming clients and helping them feel comfortable throughout their visit.
- Explaining treatments and recommending suitable aftercare products where appropriate.
- Supporting the wider team with the day-to-day running of the spa.
What We’re Looking For
We are looking for people who are:
- Friendly, professional and approachable.
- Passionate about wellbeing and customer service.
- Eager to learn new skills.
- Reliable and punctual.
- Comfortable working as part of a team.
- Flexible to work weekends and some evenings.
- Previous experience or knowledge of massage therapy, beauty treatments or spa services would be an advantage, but is not essential, as full training will be provided.
No previous Hammam or spa experience is necessary, as full training will be provided.
Working Hours
Our spa is open:
- Monday: 11:00am – 6:00pm
- Wednesday: 11:00am – 6:00pm
- Friday: 11:00am – 6:00pm
- Saturday: 11:00am – 6:00pm
- Sunday: 11:00am – 5:00pm
Working days and shifts will be agreed in advance.

Spa Cleaner
Full-time · From £12.75 per hour
Role Specifics
- Welcoming clients, providing information about the spa and giving a tour.
- Maintaining cleanliness — ensuring spa facilities, treatment rooms and waiting areas are clean, organised and properly stocked with supplies.
- Consistent high standard of cleanliness, and being polite, courteous and attentive to guests’ needs.
- Excellent attention to detail; honest & trustworthy; responsible and reliable with their work.
- Following all company health and safety procedures.
- Reporting any maintenance problems, safety hazards, accidents or injuries.
Requirements
- Professional attitude.
- Basic English.
- First aid would be beneficial but not essential.
- Right to work in the UK.
- Hours: Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday & Sunday, 10am–6pm.
- Includes 2 weekends per month.
